Contract: Fixed Term (Parental Leave Cover as below), Full Time (also accepting applications from 32 hours per week up to full time)

Cover period: 11th January 2026- 17th January 2028.

About the Role 

Are you a physiotherapist who is looking to take the next step in your clinical journey?  We have an exciting opportunity to join our Kenepuru Community team, to serve our wider Community ORA teams at Capital and Coast as the Advanced Physiotherapist (Falls).

The clinical aspect of this role would see you working alongside interdisciplinary community team colleagues (including allied health assistants) with people who have a range of personal health conditions and disabilities including survivors of stroke, post traumatic injury, people at risk of falls, neurological conditions, mild to moderate dementias and amputees.

You will also use your leadership skills, coupled with an advanced level of clinical knowledge, to champion service improvements for frail older adults and those at risk of falls across our community teams.  Sharing your skills and knowledge with colleagues, and refining how best to meet the needs of older adults living in our community is an integral part of the role.  You will have a strong focus on driving quality projects to improve service delivery for older adults in the community with a willingness to challenge the norm. 

You will be joining a friendly, dynamic and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team that includes other experienced physiotherapists. You will be continuing the momentum of delivering in-service programmes, targeted team training and on-going development opportunities for your colleagues. Duties

• Assessment, management and intervention within the community physiotherapy service
• Inter-professional care of the at risk elderly in the community who are frail and clients on rehabilitation and compensatory support pathways
• Lead quality improvement activities to develop and improve clinical services within Community ORA
• Mentor and support rotational and experienced physiotherapists
• Clinically supervise undergraduate physiotherapy students

About the Team/Service Location 

Based at the Kenepuru Hospital Campus, you will work closely with the Kenepuru Community Older Adult Rehabilitation and Assessment (ORA) Team, and this role also work across our Kapiti and Wellington Community ORA services to help guide and lead quality work for Falls.  Kenepuru Community ORA is a well-established multidisciplinary team with a strong culture of manaakitanga, collaborative practice, shared clinical reasoning, and coordinated care planning, all focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for patients. 

About you 

• Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current APC
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice
• Strong Inter-professional skills
• Leadership and quality improvement experience
• Neurological and Older Persons health experience (additionally Vestibular clinical experience is desirable) 
• Demonstrates ability to build rapport with patient and whānau from all backgrounds
