This is a role like no other.  You will be a key participant in New Zealand Post's thinking in relation to NZ Post's wholesale (‘access') letters services, driving and coordinating inputs in to the NZ Post Access Committee and contributing to the day-to-day operations of the access framework.

Your role will focus around 3 key areas:

  • Access Framework Operations
  • Regulatory and Competition Advice
  • Regulatory strategy advice

This opportunity will see you working with our complex pricing models – having regulatory input and QA into these and the evaluation against our network capability and external constraints.

You will also get involved in the wider activities of the team, including developing and planning New Zealand Post's regulatory engagement and positioning, contributing to regulatory processes regarding any future changes to NZ Posts' universal service obligations, and maintaining and developing NZ Post's relationships with key public sector agencies including MBIE, Treasury, the Commerce Commission, Customs and MPI.

This role will draw on a combination of skills within either your competition law; economic; policy or regulatory experience.  To be successful, you will have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong numerical ability to be able to work with our complex pricing/economic models (with help from our lovely finance team).  You will also have the knack of influencing through written and oral advocacy, including communicating complex information in a simple and efficient manner.

We can offer flexibility in your working hours and a remuneration package including health insurance.

Applications close 5pm Friday 20 September 2019
