Team Administrator at Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children, Auckland

Part-time, flexible, permanent opportunity based in Auckland (20 hours per week)

The Transitions Support Service team are seeking a solution focused and diligent individual with strong computer literacy and administration skills.  You will be a person who seeks to strengthen existing systems and have the initiative to develop new processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team. You will be able to work on your own but also enjoy being part of a diverse team.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Team Administrator to join our team to provide support to our busy team. This opportunity provides flexibility around hours with a mixture of remote and office hours.

The Transition Support Service supports young people aged 15-25 as they age out of care and/or custody, to help them get a good start to their adult lives.

 

Mō te tūnga | About the role

As a vital member of our team, you will provide a mix of personal assistance and administrative support to the team on a range of functions. The key focus of this role is to ensure that the processes that support the teams are highly efficient, effective and organised to aid the team in their work. In this role you will support a team that is spread across the country, and whilst much of the work is online, some office hours are required.

You will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks, including diary management, travel arrangements, project co-ordination, venue bookings and other administrative tasks for the teams. You will be solutions focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will need to be able to demonstrate an advanced level of technical proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You will be dealing with information which is confidential and sensitive so you will need to understand the importance of confidentiality and how this information is managed and stored.

We are looking for a person who is able to multi-task, is confident to bring new ideas to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the work we do, is a 'team player', loves to laugh, has high energy and lives our Oranga Tamariki values in all they do.

Preference is given to those who have:

  • Proven experience in office administration
  • Effective organisation, planning and time management skills
  • Right to work in New Zealand
