Ko tā mātou mahi - Our Role
The Principal Advisor - Project Benefits is Urban Development and Delivery's subject matter expert on Benefits management, realisation, monitoring and reporting. This position is accountable to the Manager - Risk, Benefits and Assurance team to deliver Benefit management for Urban Development and Delivery (UDD) projects.
The role works alongside, and collaborates with, Project Delivery, Commercial Management, and Civil Construction and Infrastructure teams to seamlessly deliver Benefit services and advice
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification or relevant work experience
- The ability to establish credibility and manage relationships with managers and teams, both internally across a large organisation and externally
- A good understanding of Benefit Management and Realisation
- Expertise in modelling cost / benefit impact scenarios for potential projects, programmes or portfolios
- Working knowledge of Treasury Better Business Cases is preferred
- Ability to lead and influence senior stakeholders through clear advice and guidance
- Relevant benefit management experience around large infrastructure or construction projects, programmes or portfolios
- A working understanding of international benefit management frameworks and standards and established good practices is preferred
- Experience functioning as a member of a highly-skilled, high performing and engaged Benefit management teams in multi-faceted and demanding environments
- Experience in working to a Benefit +management strategy
- Interest in the New Zealand social housing, residential and property development sectors
- Ability to innovate and apply new practices and processes to ensure continuous improvement.
- The behavioural characteristics and skills required to work in a matrixed environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills and advanced written and verbal skills
- Interest in public sector structure, governance, processes and systems
- Experience navigating and operating in a regulated environment, experience working constructively across functions and track record of building and maintaining the trust of all stakeholders.
