Te tūnga | The role

The Principal Advisor Pacific Engagement reports to the Kaihautu - Te Tohu Rautaki Angitu Maori. You will work in close partnership with the Senior Advisor Pacific Engagement, to help us achieve improved outcomes for pacific communities and for Aotearoa New Zealand.  This role will further embed our commitment to working with Tagata Moana.

  • Tagata Moana leadership in system and structure
  • Collaboration with Tagata Moana on data quality and design
  • Tagata Moana participation to identify and remove barriers
  • Stats NZ and Tagata Moana sharing insight to improve practice and decision making
  • Champion Stats NZ raising Pacific Cultural Capability
  • Actively support change implementation
  • Developing guidelines, frameworks and tools that inform responsiveness to Tagata Moana
  • Preparing papers and documents to articulate significant topic areas, issues and/or risks from Tagata Moana
  • Develop and foster strategic and enduring relationships and networks with Tagata Moana across the data ecosystem as it relates to Stats NZ.
