Nursing within Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) offers a rewarding and challenging practice setting, ideal for clinicians who are adaptable, organised, and strong communicators. Based at the Northland Region Corrections Facility, you'll deliver comprehensive primary health care in a dynamic environment.

Your work will include:

  • Assessing and managing a wide range of health needs
  • Physical and mental health care
  • Alcohol and other drug (AOD) support
  • Health education and promotion
  • Acute care and emergency response
  • No two days are the same, and you'll be supported to build and apply a broad clinical skillset

 

Mōu | About you

We're looking for a Registered Nurse seeking casual work in the Kaikohe area who brings:

  • Recent clinical experience in primary or secondary health care
  • A broad range of post-graduate clinical exposure
  • Confidence assessing and responding to emergency situations
  • A strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • A non-judgmental, inclusive approach to care
  • Triage experience (desirable, but not essential)
  • You must be a New Zealand resident to be eligible for this role
