Principal Facilitator - Napier Community Corrections at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections), Hawkes Bay (Te Matau a Maui)

Ngā kawenga | About the role

We are looking for a self-motivated leader with a can-do attitude to support and guide a team of Programme Facilitators to deliver high quality offence focused rehabilitation programmes to those in our care across the rohe.

You will need to be passionate and -values led, with exceptional communication skills, and have the tenacity and resilience to network widely, building strong relationships along your way.

You will be joining a team of professional and supportive colleagues working across the Pae Ora space, working closely with other Principal Facilitators and networking with your colleagues in primary health, mental health and psychological services to support rehabilitation and oranga of the people we work with.  You will have enabling partners supporting with financial and other management requirements.

You will be accountable for the development and support of your team and will work collaboratively with stakeholders to work through operational problems as they arise. To ensure the continuous improvement and effectiveness of programmes, as a Principal Facilitator you will identify risks, practice issues, and utilise decision making frameworks effectively.

To be successful in this challenging and rewarding role you will have the following:

  • Proven experience in the development and effective management of a service delivery plan.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the coaching, mentoring and performance management of others.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills with demonstrated experience in working with key agencies, both governmental and non-governmental, in the social/justice sectors.
  • Have knowledge and experience of effective group work Be knowledgeable in Māori culture and tikanga and be able to support staff to continually build competence in bi-cultural practice, .
  • Be familiar with psychological models, including Psychology of Criminal Conduct
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must!

Ngā painga | The benefits

The salary range is $112,899 - $129,094. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
