Talent and Leadership Lead at Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections), Multiple Locations

Mō te tūnga | About the role

As the Talent and Leadership Lead, you will play a key role in building leadership capability across Ara Poutama Aotearoa. Working as part of the Leadership Development team, you will design, plan and deliver leadership development programmes and services aligned with our Leadership Development Framework.

Acting as a trusted advisor, you will partner closely with leaders, particularly at the frontline in the Waikato and Central area, to provide leadership development advice, delivery, and services such as, coaching, and supporting ongoing leadership practice. You will challenge and empower leaders to become self-directed learners who role model continuous development.

You will also connect leaders to leadership development opportunities aligned with organisational priorities, including Hōkai Rangi, and contribute to the continuous improvement of leadership development services. In addition, you will support talent mapping, development and mobility, helping leaders take a strategic approach to building capability and strengthening future leadership pipelines.

To be successful in this role you will bring:  

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong track record in building trust, rapport and credible relationships with leaders at all levels, and in working collaboratively with colleagues from across the business.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of talent management methodologies and leadership development approaches, including the design and application of effective strategies, programmes and interventions.
  • Experience in a range of leadership development tools and approaches such as giving and receiving feedback, reflective practices, team and culture development tools, and leadership diagnostics.
  • Experience designing and delivering research-informed leadership development initiatives and programmes.
  • Cultural capability and awareness, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and perspectives.

 

Ngā painga | The benefits

The salary range (85%-100%) is $124,578 - $146,562 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
