Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Case Manager - Invercargill Prison

  • Support rehabilitation that creates real change in people's lives
  • Build strong relationships to guide positive pathways forward
  • Join a values-led team focused on safer communities and better futures

Mō te tūnga | About the role

We are currently looking for a Case Manager to join our dedicated team at Invercargill Prison.

As a Case Manager, you will provide specialist, end-to-end management of people serving sentences as they work through programmes designed to address their rehabilitation and reintegration needs. This includes initial assessment, identifying needs, developing case plans, and working alongside whānau and community agencies to support long-term change. You will also prepare reports and recommendations for the New Zealand Parole Board, so strong written skills are essential.

You will meet regularly with people in prison to understand what support they need to move forward. This is both a rewarding and challenging role, as you may work with individuals with diverse and sometimes confronting offending histories. You'll be supported by a collaborative team and structured training, but resilience and professionalism are key.

Our Case Managers take a person-centred approach, focusing on wellbeing to reduce the likelihood of reoffending and support people to make positive, lasting changes.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day between 7:00am and 5pm
