Mō te tūnga | About the role
This 12-month fixed term opportunity is focused on delivering project management outcomes for the Housing on Corrections Land (HOCL) Additional Capacity programme, a defined national programme delivering purpose built housing on Corrections sites to support safe reintegration outcomes.
As Project Manager, you will lead delivery across the programme, providing guidance and mentorship to the Senior Project Coordinator. You will work closely with the Operational Lead and Programme Manager to ensure projects are well planned, coordinated, and progressed, with a clear focus on outcomes and milestones.
You will support programme planning, coordination, and sequencing, ensuring activities are organised, actively managed, and aligned with governance and delivery requirements.
You will be responsible for delivering complex, high-profile projects end to end, from initial scoping and feasibility through to implementation and completion, ensuring outcomes are achieved.

- Building strong relationships, influencing stakeholders, and reaching consensus
- Communicating clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
To be successful in this position you will have extensive experience as a Project Manager, ideally within assets, property or construction disciplines.
- Managed large scale, high risk and complex projects, ensuring you are maintaining best practice project management processes, methods, and techniques.
- Ability to build and lead bespoke project teams and proactively manage key project stakeholder relationships, negotiating and influencing as needed
- Proven experience in writing Business Cases
- Enjoy working within a collaborative environment and lead/mentor others when possible, enabling us to support and drive forward our organisation's strategy - Hōkai Rangi.
- A tertiary qualification in property, engineering or a relevant discipline is beneficial
- Project Management Accreditation is highly advantageous.
- Possible national travel required.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $131,914 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $112,127 - $158,297 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
