Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Analyst to join the Data and Information Product Group.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Enterprise Data Warehouse Analyst focuses on analysis of source data for acquisition, modelling the data using the Kimball methodology, and thorough testing before delivering data products used  for reports and dashboards to meet the product owner's satisfaction. Additionally creating and enhancing information insights by delivering data visualizations, business analytics, and reports to business customers, product owners, and stakeholders. 

In our Data Warehouse team, you will elicit and assess requirements from business users, use data analysis techniques to gather information, and apply innovative thinking to create and test end-to-end solutions from data models to dashboards.  You will also provide support and training to end users, help people understand our information through data stories, and work within an agile methodology.

The role is based at National Office in Wellington, however nationwide applications will also be considered for the right candidate.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

Recent experience in some or all of the skills below are key to this role;

  • Using Dimensional modelling (Kimball) and producing quality meta-data
  • Working closely with the business to produce business rule definitions, and process models.
  • Experience using SQL for data analysis and testing
  • Oracle products such as OAS (Oracle Analytics Server), or OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) for report design and development

A tertiary qualification in IT, Business Management, Statistics or similar relevant discipline is required for this role.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

The mid-point of the salary range is $131,914 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $ 112,127 - $158,297 per annum.  Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
