Mō te tūnga | About the role

Kia Marama Special Treatment Unit, Rolleston Prison currently has an opportunity to join their specialist team as a Reintegration Coordinator. In this role you will work with Special Treatment Unit (STU) participants, undertaking treatment programmes for high-risk child sexual offending. This is a challenging but highly rewarding role working alongside psychologists and group facilitators, whānau, community organisations and other stakeholders to help participants successfully reintegrate into the community and reduce the likelihood of reoffending.

As a key member of the treatment team, you'll coordinate reintegration planning from programme entry through to release, ensuring participants have the practical, social and community support needed to achieve positive outcomes.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

Ideally you will have a formal qualification in Social Work, Psychology or similar, and demonstrated professional leadership in a relevant area and/or an extended period of work experience in Case Management or Community Probation. 

If you have the following skills, knowledge and experience then we would love to hear from you:

• Experience applying social service interventions within a Corrections, Justice or rehabilitation setting.
• Proven experience building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, service providers, community agencies and support networks.
• A strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural responsiveness and working effectively with Māori, whānau and diverse communities.
• High levels of resilience and the ability to work constructively with people who present with complex needs, challenging behaviours, or significant risk factors.
• An understanding of the requirements of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act and the New Zealand Psychologists' Code of Ethics.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional case notes, reports and recommendations.
• Excellent planning, coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve outcomes.
• Strong problem-solving, team-building and influencing skills are essential, as is the ability to model pro-social behaviour and to represent the therapeutic community in a positive manner. 
• A full, clean NZ driver licence is required. 

Ngā painga | The benefits

The salary range for this role is $95,080 -  $102,776 per annum across three steps.  Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
