About the Role

The Technology and System Process Lead is responsible for delivering the Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) Technology Roadmap, ensuring over $33m of investment supports Strategy 2030 and delivers clear value. The role translates strategy into execution, overseeing delivery from planning through to implementation and business-as-usual.

It provides senior leadership across stakeholders, ensuring strong governance, accountability, and alignment with Health NZ priorities, while managing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs with a whole-of-system perspective.

Key responsibilities:

• Own and deliver the PSC&HTM technology roadmap aligned to Strategy 2030
• Translate strategy into clear delivery plans and milestones via programme management
• Establish governance, performance tracking, and benefits realisation
• Lead cross-functional coordination and stakeholder alignment
• Manage risks, dependencies, and partner performance
• Ensure technology improves efficiency, consistency, and capability
• Align technology improvements with operational policies and procedures
• Provide regular assurance to senior leadership
• Drive measurable outcomes and long-term organisational impact

About the Team/Service 

The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.  

About you

You are a senior technology and systems leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale technology solutions and driving process improvement across complex environments. You combine strong analytical capability with strategic thinking, enabling you to translate organisational priorities into practical, technology-enabled outcomes.

Collaborative and values-driven, you bring a proven ability to lead through ambiguity, influence across diverse stakeholder groups, and build trusted partnerships. You are committed to continuous improvement, demonstrate an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi across technology, processes, and people to deliver sustainable system-wide impact.

You will bring:

• Minimum 8+ years' experience in technology delivery or process improvement roles; experience implementing within a health setting is an advantage
• Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capability to drive technology-enabled outcomes
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration, implement change, and manage ambiguity
• Deep understanding of technology integration, data/analytics, and continuous improvement
• Experience overseeing governance, performance measurement, and benefits realisation for technology initiatives
