Senior Advisor- Controlled Documents - Quality and Patient Safety - Clinical Leadership at Te Whatu Ora, All Locations

About the Role

As a Senior Advisor, Controlled Documents, you will work as a member of the clinical governance team and is responsible for providing technical leadership, coordination, guidance and education to staff developing controlled documents and other relevant documentation. You will use your knowledge of document control and health literacy training to support document owners.

This role with partner with clinical and non-clinical leaders across the system to support quality outcomes for patients and the efficient functioning of services through high-quality controlled documents. This role requires experience in controlled document systems and a working knowledge of document control practises.

About the Team/Service/ Location

This role will report to the National Clinical Governance Manager, part of the Quality and Patient Safety team within the Office of the Chief Clinical Officer (OCCO) to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care to achieve Health New Zealand goals.

About you                                                                                                                

You are a skilled and organised Senior Advisor with relevant experience in handling Controlled Documents. You work to improve the policy and document control systems and processes to ensure documents are evidence-based, up to date, and compliant.  You are able to deliver high quality work under pressure, set priorities and manage tight deadlines. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative and positive working relationships with staff across the wider organisation as well as all key stakeholders, internally and externally.

  • Knowledge of policy and controlled documents relevant to health services
  • Knowledge of document control relevant to health services.
  • Ability to guide staff on the writing, developing and maintaining of policies and other controlled documents
  • Excellent SharePoint/MS 365 skills
