National Lead - Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) - Clinical Leadership at Te Whatu Ora, All Locations

About the Role

The National Lead IPC will lead the delivery of a high-quality IPC programme reporting to the National Quality & Patient Safety Manager, working in partnership with the IPC Programme Manager. The role will also contribute to national strategic priorities, including the development of national guidelines and positions, and will engage with stakeholders across national, regional, and district levels to ensure alignment and impact.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The role will work closely with other people and teams within the National Clinical Leadership team, including the Chief Clinical Officer, and Chief Nursing Officer. This role will also have a high level of interaction with the Regional and Local Clinical Leaders to support the implementation of work programmes, and to ensure the timely provision of information to the National Clinical Leadership Team and other groups to support decision-making.   The role will also have strong alignment and connections with the national infection services clinical network.

  • We welcome applications from all clinical disciplines with the right training, skills and experience 
  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification
  • Have in-depth knowledge of IPC and more than five years of experience working in this field
  • Demonstrated experience in the health sector either at a clinical and/or advisor level
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
  • We will accept applications from candidates wanting part time or full-time hours.
