About the Role 

We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Platform Manager (Exchange & Teams) to lead and optimise critical digital platforms for Health New Zealand. This role combines operational excellence with strategic oversight, ensuring platform services are reliable, secure, cost-efficient, and aligned with organisational and digital strategies. You will drive platform initiatives, support integration across environments, and enhance platform capabilities while maintaining high service quality. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, results-driven leader who nurtures their team, fosters continuous improvement, and champions innovation, all while ensuring compliance, risk management, and health and safety. By working closely with internal stakeholders, business owners, and external partners, you will deliver initiatives that improve national, regional, and local operations, simplify processes, and transform services to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery.

About you

We are looking for a seasoned and visionary ICT/Technology leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and operational excellence. You are someone who can drive digital transformation while ensuring platforms remain reliable, secure, and aligned with organisational objectives. You take pride in optimising complex systems, leading high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability. With strong self-awareness, integrity, and a commitment to inclusive leadership, you will contribute meaningfully to Health New Zealand's mission and broader digital strategy.

You will have:

  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in technical leadership roles, overseeing critical systems and implementing effective digital strategies.
  • Proven ability to balance innovation with risk management while optimising financial and service performance of complex platforms.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in a leadership context.
  • Demonstrated excellence in building positive relationships, driving team performance, and modelling integrity, accountability, and professional leadership.
