About the Role

The Investment Insights Analyst plays a key role in supporting the effective oversight and optimisation of digital investments across the organisation. Operating at both advisory and delivery levels, the role is responsible for analysing and interpreting digital investment data to generate actionable insights that inform strategic planning and portfolio management. Working collaboratively with the Strategy and Design team, Group Manager Digital Investment, Business Support, finance teams, and other stakeholders, the Investment Insights Analyst develops performance reports, conducts trend analysis, and provides evidence-based recommendations. This role also supports the continuous improvement of investment monitoring and reporting processes, helping to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with organisational priorities.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Investment Insights Analyst is part of the Digital Investment team which comes under the broader Digital Health Strategy & Design function - a collaborative, forward-thinking group focused on stakeholder engagement and strategic investment. The team works closely with Regional Digital Directors, Clinical Informatics Directors, and other key partners to develop digital service roadmaps and adaptable solution designs. By leveraging specialist expertise and strong partnerships, the team ensures investment decisions deliver outcomes that are affordable, sustainable, and equitable across Health New Zealand.

About you

As an experienced investment or financial analyst, you will bring strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex data into meaningful insights. With experience in financial or business analysis, ideally within large organisations or the public sector, you will be confident creating business cases and investment proposals. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial analysis, investment analysis, or business analysis role.
• Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI assessment.
• Proficiency in data modeling and data visualisation tools (e.g., Excel and Power BI) is essential.
