Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

  • All Health New Zealand locations
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • This role offers a hybrid working model, with a mix of working from home and working from the office

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.

We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

As a Recruitment Events Lead, you'll design and deliver a high impact calendar of recruitment events—career fairs, open days, networking forums and virtual webinars—that position Health NZ as an employer of choice across domestic and international markets. You'll partner with senior clinical leaders, recruitment teams and attraction specialists to align event strategy with long term workforce priorities, and champion our employer brand at scale.

What you'll do

  • Plan & lead the national recruitment events calendar: build a compelling annual calendar aligned to workforce goals and approved investment.
  • Deliver exceptional recruitment events end to end: oversee logistics, venues, vendors, collateral, catering, and digital experiences for virtual events.
  • Champion brand consistency: ensure our recruitment brand is strong, inclusive and consistent across all activity, working with Communications and our Campaigns & Advertising partners.
  • Partner widely: collaborate with clinical leaders, hiring managers, workforce and recruitment portfolio leads; prepare Health NZ ambassadors to engage confidently and deliver a great candidate experience.
  • Measure impact: manage multi event budgets, track attendance, engagement and conversion, and report ROI with clear insights and recommendations
  • Advance equity: integrate Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments and equity outcomes throughout planning and delivery; support mana enhancing, culturally safe candidate experiences

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience creating and delivering successful recruitment or industry events that engage target audiences.
  • Strength in influencing senior stakeholders and building outcome focused relationships across internal teams and external partners.
  • Creative event concepting and collateral development aligned to our values and brand; comfortable in agile environments.
  • Data savvy: confident analysing event performance, spotting trends and applying insights to improve attraction and candidate experience.
  • Hands on experience with domestic and international recruitment and/or large scale campaigns; knowledge of digital marketing tools and social media is a plus.
