About the Role

The Executive Assistant is a key member of the Business Services Support Team. This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington and is responsible for delivering high-quality, timely executive support to Directors, often involving confidential and sensitive matters. You will be working collaboratively within a national network of executive assistants, team coordinators and team administrators. The Executive Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring seamless coordination and professional service delivery across the broader Digital Services division.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Executive Assistant reports into the National Business Manager and sits with the Business Services Support team which forms part of the wider Digital Services function. Business Services supports the efficient operation of Digital Services and manages key interfaces with Health New Zealand's corporate and enabling functions. The team leads continuous improvement and service optimisation, provides centralised operational and administrative support, manages risk across IT operations and delivery, and maintains strong partnerships with functions such as HR, Finance, Procurement, and Communications to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.

About you

A highly accomplished Executive Assistant, you bring deep expertise deliver strategic, high-level executive support. You operate with precision, discretion, and unwavering professionalism, enabling senior leaders to focus on critical priorities. You have a solutions-driven mindset and a strong commitment to innovation and equity in the healthcare sector, you consistently anticipate needs, manage complexity, and drive outcomes. Your ability to build strong relationships across all levels paired with your sound judgment and attention to detail makes you a trusted and influential presence. You will bring the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:

  • 10–15 years' experience providing high-level executive support to senior leaders or their teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels, including with senior officials and healthcare leaders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, and video conferencing technologies.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with a proactive approach to prioritising tasks, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring accuracy under pressure.
