HR Business Partner - Finance, Procurement & Supply Chain at Te Whatu Ora, All Locations
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
- Permanent, full time
- Work from where you are
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.
We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.
Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to act as a strategic partner to the Business Unit, contributing to the overall success of the district, region or function. You will work closely with senior leaders to deliver effective People & Culture (P&C) initiatives, practices and systems that align with business requirements and organisational goals. This includes collaborating with P&C specialists to ensure integrated service delivery, providing input into the design of strategic initiatives, and leading projects as required.
You will support and assist with the implementation of strategic People & Culture projects, including the delivery of transformational change across the district or service. This role plays a key part in embedding change in a way that is sustainable, practical and aligned with broader organisational priorities.
You will also provide leadership that builds sustainability, resilience and meaningful, culturally safe connections. This includes strengthening organisational capability, assets and services, with a clear focus on supporting the New Zealand public health system to deliver positive outcomes for communities, both now and into the future.
About you
You hold a degree in HR, Business or Psychology, or you bring significant and relevant experience across HR and organisational development. You have at least five to eight years' experience working as an HR Business Partner or Generalist within a complex organisation, where you have supported leaders through a broad range of people and performance matters.
You have strong, practical working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation, employment relations and industrial relations, and you are confident applying this knowledge in real-world situations. You are an exceptional communicator who builds credibility quickly, creates impact, and develops proactive, trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
You are experienced working in complex and, ideally, unionised environments, and you are comfortable navigating competing priorities while maintaining a balanced, pragmatic and outcomes-focused approach.
