About the Role 

Are you ready to be the expert others turn to? As a Senior Application Support Analyst, you'll take the lead in keeping our critical business applications performing at their best. From maintaining stability and security to troubleshooting complex issues and implementing smart enhancements, you'll ensure systems are reliable and continuously improving. You'll also mentor and support your peers, helping build capability across the team while driving process improvements that lift service delivery. This is a chance to make a real impact, keeping the digital backbone of our organisation strong and effective.

About the Team/Service/ Location 

Our Digital Applications & Products function is part of Digital Services and is at the heart of keeping Health NZ's applications & products connected, secure, and running smoothly. We focus on making applications simpler, more reliable, and better aligned to the needs of our people and patients. With dedicated teams structured around the applications and products they support, we deliver stability, faster improvements, and real value to clinicians, operational leaders, and end users nationwide. By working closely with our Digital Delivery function, we're ensuring digital services aren't just fit-for-purpose but truly enable better healthcare across Aotearoa.

About you 

You're a problem-solver, a mentor, and a trusted technical lead. With deep application support experience, you'll thrive on tackling challenges, optimising systems, and ensuring services deliver real results. Your ability to guide others, resolve issues, and drive improvement will make you a key part of our team's success.

  • Leveraging Work Skills – Delivers high-quality application support to agreed standards, contributes to continuous improvement, and brings 5–7 years' senior IT/application support experience (including 2+ years mentoring or leading others).
  • Solving Problems – Strong troubleshooting, problem management, and root cause analysis capability, with experience implementing sustainable solutions across complex systems.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Builds effective stakeholder relationships, collaborates across teams, and supports and mentors' colleagues.
  • Self-Development – Maintains and grows technical expertise in line with industry trends; holds relevant IT qualifications (ITIL Expert/Master desirable).
  • Leveraging Diversity – Demonstrates understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, and equity commitments including Wai2575.
  • Technical Environment – Experience supporting diverse applications and using service management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira Service Management.
