Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders. We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities. Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

This is a fixed‑term role, covering parental leave for up to 12 months starting in August 2026. The appointment may conclude earlier depending on the substantive role holder's return.

Key focus areas include:

  • Supporting relationships with external and internal stakeholders involved in RMO training and employment
  • Contributing to RDSS projects and initiatives that improve training pathways and workforce sustainability
  • Assisting with coordination, communication, and delivery of agreed work programmes
  • Bringing together insights from stakeholders and RMOs to inform continuous improvement

This role would suit someone ready for a step‑up or stretch opportunity, including applicants from advisory, project, workforce, education or health system roles

About the Team/Service/ Location

About you

You will bring:

  • Clear, confident communication skills and an ability to contribute thoughtfully in professional settings
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to analyse information and identify practical next steps
  • Comfort working in evolving environments, with the ability to seek guidance and support when needed

  • Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, project or programme delivery in complex organisations
  • Ability to build constructive working relationships and learn from a range of stakeholders
  • Experience contributing to planning, coordination, reporting or implementation activities
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity principles, with a commitment to ongoing learning and application
