About the Role
We're seeking a Portfolio Systems Transformation Manager to lead the ongoing national rollout, transition, and enhancement of our Project Portfolio Management (PPM) systems - Planview and Procore. This pivotal role will drive systems change across the Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG), integrating national and regional portfolios into a unified IIG portfolio.
You'll embed standardised practices, improve transparency in portfolio reporting and analytics, and implement lifecycle controls that strengthen organisational accountability and risk management. Your leadership will ensure successful adoption of PPM systems and deliver improvements to health infrastructure project delivery nationwide.
This is a 6 month fixed term position.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The team work closely with IIG Regional & National teams, broader teams across Health New Zealand, as well as broader government agencies, and the wider health sector to support and deliver, high impact infrastructure investments that help transform New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.
About you
You're someone who loves making systems work better and helping people adapt to change. You're confident leading projects that involve technology, processes, and people, and you know how to bring everyone along for the journey. You're practical, collaborative, and great at turning complex ideas into clear actions.
You enjoy working with different teams and building strong relationships. You're comfortable managing multiple priorities and finding solutions when things get tricky. You understand the importance of good governance and transparency, but you also know how to keep things moving and make improvements quickly and you want to make a positive impact on health outcomes for all New Zealanders.
You will have:
- At least one of: PMP®, MSP™, Reg PM, PRINCE2, IPMA Level C, Agile, PROSCI.
- 10+ years' experience managing diverse projects, including PPM platform rollouts.
- Experience working as part of a PMO in a large, complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of Planview, Procore, or equivalent PPM systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to equity.
