About the Role
The Financial Analyst provides financial and analytical expertise to support planning, forecasting, and monitoring of funding across all prevention screening programmes. This includes baseline budgets and programme-specific allocations for Breast, Bowel, Cervical, Antenatal and Childhood Screening, and other screening initiatives. The role ensures funding decisions are evidence-based, equitable, and aligned with organisational strategy, Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations, and Pae Ora principles.

About you
You are a highly capable and purpose-driven finance professional who brings strong analytical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering equitable outcomes within complex public sector environments. You are comfortable operating at scale, partnering with senior leaders, and using data-driven insights to influence decision-making and improve financial performance.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) desirable, alongside proficiency in financial systems and tools such as SAP and Power BI, and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity
- Proven experience in financial modelling, forecasting, and managing multi–cost centre environments, ideally within the health sector or large-scale public sector organisations
- Strong ability to interpret complex financial and operational data, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership
- Demonstrated experience working with government funding processes, public sector accountability frameworks, and audit requirements, with knowledge of the machinery of government
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience building capability in others to understand and implement funding arrangements across national networks
