Pacific Public Health Chief Delivery Lead - NPHS at Te Whatu Ora, All Locations

About the Role

As Chief Delivery Lead, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of complex work, ensuring alignment between national strategy and regional delivery to achieve improved health outcomes for Pacific communities. This is a senior leadership role at the centre of Pacific Public Health delivery, responsible for driving the coordination, implementation, and impact of national programmes and initiatives.

Working closely with the Director of Pacific Public Health, regional clinical leads, and key stakeholders across Health NZ and the wider sector, you will lead the planning and execution of priority initiatives. You will ensure programmes are well-integrated, culturally grounded, and effectively implemented at a local level, delivering tangible, equity-focused results.

You will play a critical role in strengthening governance, monitoring performance and outcomes, and providing high-quality advice at a senior level. This includes representing Pacific Public Health in cross-sector forums, contributing to policy and operational development, and helping shape direction at a system level.

The NPHS within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

About you

You are an experienced and influential leader with a passion for improving health outcomes and achieving equity for Pacific communities. You bring a strong track record of delivering complex programmes and working collaboratively across organisations to turn strategy into meaningful, real-world impact.

You are relationship-driven and culturally aware, with the ability to work in partnership with Pacific communities and stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives that are grounded, effective, and responsive. You think strategically, act decisively, and communicate with clarity, whether engaging with communities, colleagues, or senior leaders.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience leading and delivering large-scale or complex programmes across multiple stakeholders
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively across sectors
  • Experience working with Pacific communities, applying culturally safe and community-centred approaches
  • The ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and drive improved outcomes
  • A commitment to equity and an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
