Team Lead Coordinators at Te Whatu Ora, All Locations

About the Role 

As a Team Lead Coordinators, you'll lead a team of 7.6 Coordinators within the Government Services function, ensuring the smooth delivery of work that supports Health New Zealand's ministerial servicing and legislative obligations. Government Services is the key interface between Health New Zealand, Ministers' offices, government agencies, and the public, playing a vital role in maintaining the organisation's reputation through high-quality, timely, and customer-focused service delivery.

This is a people leadership role where you'll manage team workflows, allocate resources, monitor delivery, and provide guidance and support to ensure quality outcomes. You'll oversee day-to-day capacity planning, identify risks and issues, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. As a subject matter expert within your area of responsibility, you'll support your team to navigate complex requests while fostering a positive, collaborative culture focused on excellence. You'll also play a key role in developing capability across the team, mentoring staff, and contributing to the ongoing success of the wider Government Services function.

About you 

As an experienced leader, you'll bring strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience leading or coordinating teams and supporting high-quality service delivery.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and workload management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organisation.
  • Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment and a commitment to continuous improvement and people development.
