Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The Project Manager will support a Project Director indelivering a large complex project, as well as, leadingnationally led programmes of work, as capacity allows, within the agreed parameters of scope, time, budget, quality, and risk - to realise the identified goals. 

To ensure delivery of initiatives across the whole of Te Whatu Ora and the wider health sector, the Project Manager requires excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder management skills, to build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and relevant senior stakeholders.

The Project Manager will ensure that best practice project management tools and methodologies are used, and that material remains relevant, including quality reporting is developed and shared.

Mōu | About you

You will establish and oversee workstreams that are necessary to deliver projects. You will lead and provide project management capability across the work programme, including ensuring work is well planned using work-planning tools and methods, which include taking strategic approaches to achieve the organisation's objectives.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

• Proficient in MS Office as well as Project Management methodologies such as PRINCE2 / PMBOK / Agile
• Demonstrated project management experience, working in a fast-paced, large and complex environment
• An understanding of the complexities of health care and the ability to work effectively in the healthcare arena
• An understanding of procurement methods and processes
• Sound understanding of machinery of government
• Strong communications skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to foster strong stakeholder engagement
• Strong budgeting, monitoring, and reporting skills
• Demonstrated experience of working within a Te Ao Māori environment and understanding Tikanga Māori, and/or substantial experience working within a bicultural context with diverse communities and/or organisations
