Administration Support Officer - Persons of Extreme Risk Directorate (PERD)

We are looking for a permanent, full-time Administration Support Officer to join our team at the Persons of Extreme Risk Directorate based at Auckland Prison, Paremoremo.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
You will be an integral part of our team providing a range of high quality administrative services to internal and external customers delivering a wide range of administrative services from email and telephone support, checking of incoming and outgoing prisoner mail, attending and taking meeting minutes for Persons of Extreme Risk Directorate (PERD) and Prisoners of Extreme Risk Unit (PERU), information management and filing, data entry, and general administration office support. Other administrative tasks include;
Manage and order stationery and unit resources, managing phone and visitor applications, privacy request logs, document file management, management of various email inboxes and supporting units with ad hoc requests as required.

You will enjoy working collaboratively as one team in a challenging and fast paced environment, be able to multitask, remain adaptable, follow and adhere to policies and procedures, and have sound judgement in prioritising tasks and activities to meet deadlines.
Ideally you will have the following skills and experience;
- Knowledge of administrative systems, processes and technology combined with experience in providing administrative support to a team.
- Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- A personable yet professional communication style – both verbal and written
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to multitask, organise effectively and display common sense.
- Able to work autonomously and in a team environment, with the ability to develop, foster and maintain positive working relationships within a diverse environment of different cultures, religion and gender identities.
- You will possess very high levels of integrity and be able to work in an environment where maintaining privacy is paramount.
- Have an understanding of tikanga Maori and can adapt to working in this space to align with the Departments Hokai Rangi Strategy

Please note you will also need a full New Zealand driver licence for this role.
The salary range for this role is $62, 217 - $65,934 per annum. The work profile for this position is Monday to Friday, working a 40-hour week.
You'll also need Full New Zealand Driver Licence and a legal right to work in New Zealand, without restriction, for a minimum of 12 months.
