About the Role

Working as an Immunology Advanced Trainee 

Clinical immunology and allergy physicians care for patients with a diverse range of disorders of the immune system from allergic disorders, immune deficiency disorders to autoimmune diseases. As an Advanced Trainee in Immunology the role is predominantly outpatient based with a dedicated Immunology day stay unit.  Medicine Registrar Runs 

Medicine Registrar runs in the Auckland region are six months in length, following which you may rotate into a different run. Example run descriptions for the 2025 training year can be viewed on the Auckland Doctors website.

About you

Advanced Training in Immunology Medicine

  • These positions will only be offered to those who have passed the FRACP written and clinical exams, and completed basic training.
  • Prior application to the SAC for Immunology is highly recommended to ensure that your runs are accredited to your advanced training.
  • You will need to be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Support and assistance with this process is provided.

A Six month rotation for those interested in Immunology Medicine experience as part of their training in General Medicine or specialty training

  • Must be at least a Basic Trainee Registrar with the RACP.
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Support and assistance with this process is provided.

If you are already an Advanced Trainee in Immunology and a current employee in the Auckland region, you do not need to apply via this job listing. You will have independent meetings with your specialty. 

Important: Even if you are a current RMO employee in the Auckland region seeking a six month allocation or applying for advanced training in Immunology, you will need to formally apply.
