About the Role
We are pleased to invite applications for the position of a full-time forensic pathology registrar based in the Department of Forensic Pathology, Northern Forensic Pathology Service, Palmerston North, New Zealand.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The department forms part of the Northern Forensic Pathology Service in-conjunction with the Auckland forensic pathology service, and is associated with a comprehensive medical laboratory providing services to the greater Manawatu region
The successful applicant will work under the supervision of forensic pathologists in provision of the local forensic pathology service. The registrar will be based at Dept of Forensic Pathology in Palmerston North. There will be a requirement to be involved in the teaching of medical students and other allied professionals.

About you
Applicants must demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to forensic pathology, possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal), be able to work under pressure, have sound medical knowledge and diagnostic acumen, and have ability to work as a member of team. The successful applicant must have passed the RCPA Basic Science examination and have completed at least 18 months training in anatomical pathology.
The registrar will take part in the forensic pathology training scheme as outlined by the RCPA forensic pathology training curriculum and the Northern Forensic Pathology Service of NZ.
Applicants must have a medical qualification recognised by the New Zealand Medical Council, allowing general medical registration, and have completed at least 2 years as a House Office in the New Zealand, or a comparable health system. A driver's license and ability to travel are essential.
