Inwards & Distribution Coordinator - Procurement & Supply Chain at Te Whatu Ora, Auckland

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Inwards & Distribution Coordinator is responsible for managing the receipting, distribution, and delivery of clinical and non-clinical goods across the district, including hospital and community sites. It involves inventory put-away, driving delivery vehicles, and ensuring stock is accurately handled and distributed.

You will support daily operations by maintaining strong communication with clinical teams, delivering excellent customer service, and contributing to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also requires a strong focus on health and safety, adherence to professional standards, and active participation in training and team targets to ensure efficient and reliable supply chain operations.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The PSC&HTM (Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. 

About you
You're reliable, adaptable, and confident working in a logistics or warehouse environment. You have a strong focus on safety, customer service, and continuous improvement, and are comfortable working with systems and processes in a fast-paced setting.

You will bring:

  • Secondary school education
    • A current full Class 1 driver's licence with 1–2 years of driving experience
    • Experience in a warehouse environment and basic stock control
    • Familiarity with ERP systems and organisational processes
    • Strong willingness to learn internal processes, products, and best practices
    • Good communication skills with the ability to manage challenging situations
    • Commitment to health and safety practices

Desired: Experience in supply chain (ideally 5+ years), preferably in the health sector, along with strong ERP system usage, H&S knowledge, and understanding of continuous improvement practices
