About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader – Inwards Goods, Distributions & Wards Inventory, the Inventory Coordinator plays a vital role in managing clinical stock across designated areas such as wards and other district departments. This includes accurate counting, replenishment, and rotation of stock, as well as maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
You'll be the single point of contact for inventory activities within your scope, ensuring stock levels are maintained, issues are resolved promptly, and improvements are continuously identified and implemented.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The PSC&HTM (Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system.
About you
You're detail-oriented, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You bring a strong understanding of inventory control and supply chain processes, ideally within a healthcare setting. You're confident using inventory systems (preferably Oracle), and you communicate clearly and empathetically with both clinical and non-clinical staff.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in inventory control
- Basic understanding of electronic product processing (e.g. barcode scanning)
- Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office and Oracle systems
- Willingness to learn about sterile stock handling, health-related products, and dangerous goods
- Desired: 2- 3 years formal training in supply chain or warehousing, and 5+ years' experience in supply chain (health sector experience preferred)
