Team Leader - Inwards Goods & Distribution at Te Whatu Ora, Auckland

About the Role

As Team Leader-Inwards Goods and Distribution, you'll lead the delivery and distribution function across Middlemore, Manukau Health Park/Super Clinic Hospitals, as well as Counties Manukau Region regional satellite and community clinics. You'll oversee day-to-day operations including stock receipting, deployment, returns, dock management, and coordination with internal services and external suppliers.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on service excellence, health and safety, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement. You'll manage a team of 25 and work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure timely and efficient distribution of medical supplies.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The PSC&HTM (Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology Management) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. 

About you

You're a confident and collaborative leader with a strong background in supply chain operations. You bring proven experience in people management, inventory control, and stakeholder engagement. You're passionate about improving systems and processes, and you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in people management and inventory control
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desired: 5+ years' supply chain experience (health sector preferred), ERP/MRP system proficiency, and knowledge of H&S practices in logistics
