About the Role
We're seeking two motivated and experienced Senior Management Accountants to join our finance team, each working with a portfolio of services across two large directorates. You will help drive financial performance – the key to restoring financial sustainability and improving health outcomes. You'll be part of a significant system change, working to ensure resources are used efficiently to deliver better care, reduce waiting times, and support equity across communities.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
- Provide strategic and operational financial advice and support to the Directors, General Managers, Managers, and Team Leaders of the allocated directorates to assist them in managing their business.
- Provide leadership to other finance team members supporting the allocated directorates.
- To provide a second in charge function to the Finance Manager in the designated directorate(s) and, where requested, assume delegated Finance Manager activities.
- To manage work-streams and/or projects across multiple portfolios of services or directorates.

About the Location
Te Toka Tumai District is based in central Auckland, delivering healthcare to its local population as well as regionally and nationally through its services based at Auckland City Hospital, Starship Children's Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre.
About you
You'll bring 3-5+ years of proven experience in substantial management accounting roles, along with a deep understanding of financial principles and practices. You'll have hands on experience in operating as the business partner to operational services – including experience in providing strategic advice, guidance, coaching, and support to leaders.
You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful manner to influence others and develop strong internal and external relationships.
You have a relevant tertiary qualification and you hold Chartered Accountant status or equivalent membership of a professional accounting association.
