About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our Staff Service Centre based in Penrose on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This role plays an important part in supporting participating services by delivering high-quality, customer-focused payroll services in a fast-paced shared services environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll data, including HR and pay information loading, maintenance, and compliance with relevant employment legislation and internal policies. You will respond to payroll queries professionally and within agreed service levels, while working closely with colleagues to ensure payroll processes run smoothly each pay cycle.

About You
As a Payroll Officer, you will bring:
- Experience working in payroll or accounts functions
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- A customer-focused approach, with the ability to respond to payroll queries professionally and efficiently
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the ability to apply its principles in your everyday work
Experience in a shared services or large organisational environment, and at least two years' payroll experience, will be advantageous.
