Senior Advisor - Clinical Leadership at Te Whatu Ora, Auckland

About the Role

The National Clinical Leadership Team has a new opportunity for a Senior Advisor to join the team on a permanent full-time basis. Working closely with the Project Manager, Business Manager and Advisor, and the wider clinical leadership team, this role will play a key role in ensuring we meet our requirements in providing quality products to Minister's offices in a timely way.  You will be responsible for drafting key ministerial products for the office (PQs, OIAs, Aide Mémoires, briefings) ensuring attention to detail and timeliness are prioritised as well as leading on other key documentation where required (regular reporting, ELT papers, memos, guidelines etc.). 

Although the role will have a focus on government services, there will also be the opportunity to lead and support projects that contribute to the wider work programme of the National Clinical Leadership Team. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

The National Clinical Leadership team comprises of the National Clinical Chiefs, Pacific Health, National Clinical Networks, Quality and Patient Safety, Safe Staffing Healthy Workplaces and the Resident Doctor Support Services teams.  This role is located in the Clinical Leadership Office, who provide support across the wider team in the areas of government services, executive and board level requirements (including reporting), project and programme management and oversight of the team's wider work programme. 

The National Clinical Leadership Team is a national team; the preferred location for this role is Auckland however applicants from Wellington will also be considered.

About you

You will bring excellent writing skills with an ability to adapt your style for the audience.  Your analytical and detail-oriented approach will allow you to take on board complex and technical information and synthesise. This role will have significant interaction with the wider clinical leadership team and across the wider organisation - the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and external teams is therefore crucial. You will be a team player and be able to work in a collegial manner.

You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, quickly assessing what needs attention first, and delivering high-quality work to tight timeframes. You will bring excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to plan ahead, stay organised, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience in writing key ministerial and government services products and an understanding of the machinery of government and health sector is advantageous.  This role could suit a superstar Advisor ready to move into their next challenge, or an existing Senior Advisor who would like to gain wider experience.  It could also be suitable for someone with an executive assistant, policy, analyst or research background who is able to quickly understand new information and use this to craft clear communications.
