Clinical Costing Analyst at Te Whatu Ora, Auckland

About the Role

As a Clinical Costing Analyst, you'll work closely with the Clinical Costing Lead to produce accurate and meaningful patient-level costing information that supports operational and strategic decision-making across Counties Manukau. You'll play a key role in analysing healthcare activity and resource utilisation, helping services better understand costs, performance, and opportunities for improvement.

This is a highly analytical and collaborative role where you'll manage and support the clinical costing system, perform audits and data analysis, and provide detailed costing reports and insights to a wide range of stakeholders. You'll work with large and complex datasets, support the development of costing methodologies, and help ensure costing data remains accurate, reliable, and aligned with national standards. Alongside this, you'll build strong relationships with service leaders and data users, providing education, support, and guidance on the interpretation and use of costing information.

About you

As a Clinical Costing Analyst, you'll bring strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights. You will also have:

  • A business, IT, finance, or other numerically focused tertiary qualification.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and support decision-making.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills across Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
