About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Health and Safety Advisor to support the delivery of health and safety services within HealthNZ
Reporting to a District Health and Safety Delivery Manager, you will provide operational health and safety support, helping to implement local health and safety programmes, initiatives, and improvement activities. You will work closely with operational leaders, Health and Safety Business Partners, Occupational Health teams, and frontline staff to promote safe work practices, support incident investigations, monitor compliance, and contribute to the development of a strong health and safety culture.

About the Team/Service
You will be part of the Occupational Health, Wellbeing, Safety and Organisational Resilience team within People and Culture. Working alongside Health and Safety Business Partners, Senior Advisors, Occupational Health teams, and operational leaders, you will help deliver national and district health and safety priorities while supporting local service needs.
About You
You will be a collaborative and proactive health and safety professional who is passionate about creating safer workplaces and supporting positive health outcomes.
You will bring:
- Up to 5 years' experience in a health and safety advisory or delivery role
- Knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
- Experience supporting risk management, incident investigations, audits, and compliance activities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
- The ability to work effectively in a complex and evolving environment while maintaining a focus on continuous improvement
An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori will be highly valued.
