Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is currently seeking casual Registered Nurses to work in the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Whakatāne Hospital.
The SCBU is a Level 2 unit with 4 cots. We provide short-term high dependency care including CPAP and stabilisation of infants requiring intensive care before transfer to a NICU. We work closely with whānau to provide excellent care to both mothers and babies.
If you are compassionate and have experience in working with neonates, then we'd love to hear from you! This role will be based in SCBU and will work as part of the Kō Matariki Maternity ward team too.
Kō Matariki is a secondary care unit with approximately 650 births per annum. The community we provide care to is a rural and semi-rural area with a 60% Māori population.
Whakatāne is the Sunshine Capital of New Zealand, with 11 km of unspoilt beach (Ōhope Beach is NZ most loved beach), stunning native bush, lots of community activities, many cafes and shops. There are good schools and excellent sports and recreational clubs and facilities.
At BOPDHB, our values of Compassion, All-one-team, Responsive and Excellence are at the centre of everything we do. We use values-based recruitment to help us recruit people who share our values, as we know this makes a positive difference to job satisfaction and the experience of our patients and their families/whānau.
The BOPDHB are committed to improving Māori health outcomes and achieving health equity for Māori through Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations. It is essential you demonstrate an awareness of Māori indigenous rights and current issues in relation to health and health equity.
All applications are to be made online.
