We are excited to recruit to the newly created role of Health Care Assistant – Maternity Support Worker (MSW).
About the role
You will provide assistance to the midwifery and nursing team as required to ensure that a high level of maternity care is maintained at all times. Tasks are predominantly housekeeping, clerical and basic care of birthing women and babies. All MSW work is always carried out under the direction and delegation of a registered midwife/nurse.
This is a casual position with hours ‘as and when required.'
Tauranga Maternity is a person and whānau focussed unit providing personalised, quality maternity care to birthing women and their families. On average 10 babies are born in the Tauranga Moana every day and we provide primary and secondary care for about 2000 women and their whānau each year.

What you will need
To work as our new Maternity Support Worker, candidates must be currently enrolled in a New Zealand Bachelor of Midwifery programme. As this is a casual role, you will be able to work between semesters throughout your entire midwifery training.
