The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne.  We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki.  The BOPDHB is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

The Bay of Plenty District Health Board are currently seeking permanent part-time Telecommunications and Call Centre Operators/Administrators to join the Team based at Tauranga Hospital.  The role is both challenging and rewarding, with an opportunity for you to make a real difference! 

We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills to provide a high level of service. Your approach will be positive and level-headed, and you will possess strong problem-solving abilities. 

You will be a competent decision maker, including maintaining efficiency while multi-tasking under pressure or during emergency situations. All while maintaining you sense of humour. Computer expertise and standards in typing, spelling and grammar must be met. Full training will be provided. 

This is a permanent 0.8 FTE position, working 64 hours per fortnight.  We provide a 24/7 service; therefore, this position involves 24-hour shift work rotation which includes AMs (6.45am-3.15pm), PMs (2.30pm-11pm), Nights (10.30pm-7am) and some weekends.
