He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with relevant experience to coordinate the care of patients within the Faster Cancer Treatment pathway.
In this senior nurse role, you will demonstrate Manaakitanga, expertise and effective coordination of patients with high suspicion of cancer from referral through to initiation of first treatment. You will be partnering with other health professionals, which ensures safe and evidenced based delivery of care for patients within the Bay of Plenty district. The patient and whānau are at the centre of the model of care.
In this role you will:
- Be coordinating care goals in partnership with the patient and whānau to facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment decision making to optimise health outcomes.
- Improve equity of access through timeliness of diagnostic and treatment services for patients with cancer.
- Provide clinical expertise and leads the advancement of professional knowledge and skills using evidence-based practice.
- Provide support and knowledge to patients and families/whānau to assist them in understanding and participating in treatment choices and ongoing health care needs.
- Be able to travel to clinics within the Bay of Plenty District
This is a 0.9FTE vacancy, working 72 hours per fortnight on a fixed-term for 12 months. The role is based at Tauranga Hospital.
