The Bay of Plenty District Health Board is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne.  We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki.  The BOPDHB is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

The Cardiology service is seeking a caring and experienced nurse with knowledge of cardiology and a passion for patient education and self-management. This role contributes to advanced cardiac care and provides care and education to patients with Cardiology service.

Key responsibilities include delivery of acute cardiac education, rehabilitation, and chronic cardiac disease management, for people during admission and in our nurse-led outpatient clinic.  If you are enthusiastic, enjoy working within a motivated specialist team and are committed to providing quality service, we would love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and teamwork qualities, with the ability to actively participate in ongoing professional and cardiac service development.

This is a Senior nursing role, and the preferred candidate will have a post graduate qualification with nurse prescribing or be willing to work towards this with commencement of the role.

This is a permanent 0.5 FTE, part-time role working 40 hours per fortnight.
