About the Role
Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty currently have positions available for suitably qualified Specialists to join the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team based at Whakatāne Hospital. This is a permanent position.
The Whakatāne Hospital maternity service is a Secondary level service with approximately 700 births a year. A Level 2 Special Care Baby Unit is located within the maternity facility. Patients requiring Tertiary care are referred to Waikato and/or Auckland Hospitals. Elective gynaecology services, including full Colposcopy services, are provided locally. We have well-resourced theatre facilities for acute and elective surgery, including minor and major open and minimal access procedures.
About the Team/Service/ Location
You will become a member of a small team of O & G specialists based in Whakatāne, with whom you will share the on call and elective workload. You should therefore be a good team player with a flexible work ethic. Knowledge of the New Zealand healthcare system will be an advantage.
You will be registered or eligible for registration within the O & G Vocational scope of practice, as determined by the Medical Council of New Zealand. Consideration will be given to full time or part time. You will share in the after-hours on call roster.
