Director Health Quality & Safety Service at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, Bay of Plenty

About the Role

The Director is responsible for leading the Health Quality & Safety Service (HQSS) with the aim to champion quality and safety, patient and whānau experience, and maintain clinical governance in the district. A key outcome is striving to deliver equity for Māori, working in partnership with Te Pare ō Toi locally, and Hauora Māori services in Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. The role comprises four core functions: leadership of quality, proactive improvement efforts, reactive assurance and risk processes and organisational learning.

The role is based in Tauranga working alongside a dedicated team covering the Bay of Plenty.

About you

The role is all about building relationships and credibility within the organisation. Excellent leadership and relationship skills are paramount; being able to work with people toward a common goal is essential.  You will have proven experience with clear and robust understandings of clinical governance expectations and have the ability to identify trends and future consequences within the organisation.

Leading by example, you will support and guide the HQSS team to champion cultural safety.

You will hold a professional clinical qualification in healthcare and ideally have experience at a senior level in quality, safety and clinical governance.
