About the Role
We are seeking a General Medicine Physician to join our team. This position is based at Tauranga Hospital, a 359 bed Level 2 hospital, and will include elective work. There is the opportunity to also undertake planned care in your subspecialist area of practice at Whakatāne Hospital which is a smaller level 2 hospital an hour south of Tauranga.
Tauranga Hospital runs a busy acute general medical service with support from resident specialists in Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases, Geriatrics, Oncology, Haematology and Renal services.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The successful candidate will join a department of Physicians who share general medical responsibilities and will lead a team which includes a registrar and a house officer. The role includes participation in acute medical assessment, admission and on call roster. There are teaching opportunities across undergraduate (years 4-6) and postgraduate (basic and advanced trainees) medicine.

About you
Candidates with sup-speciality interests in any speciality are welcome and due to the flexible nature of the vacancy; trainees completing training within the next six months are also welcome to apply.
Applicants must hold or be eligible for, vocational registrars with the NZ Medical Council.
