About the Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a senior nurse with advanced vascular access expertise to step into a pivotal leadership role.  As a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Vascular Access, your work will directly influence safer, more effective care pathways for our patients and clinical teams.

This full-time position is ideal for a confident clinician who thrives on working autonomously, guiding others, and making sound recommendations across multidisciplinary teams.  From clinical consultations and PICC/midline insertions to coaching peers and refining systems, this is a role where experience meets purpose.

About you

An expert in vascular access, you bring a strong clinical foundation, post-graduate education, and a proven ability to lead from the front.  With a deep understanding of patient safety, you communicate clearly, support informed choice, and work seamlessly across services to improve outcomes.

What you will bring:

  • Registered with NZNC and current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Accredited competence in PICC and midline catheter insertion.
  • Advanced assessment, clinical decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant area (or working toward one).
  • Passion for education, quality improvement, and mentoring peers.
