What You'll Be Doing
No two days will be the same as a Network Engineer responsible for the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of our network services. Working closely with senior engineers, technical teams, project stakeholders, and vendors, you will be:
- Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure across multiple sites
- Assisting in the design and deployment of network solutions
- Troubleshooting connectivity issues and ensuring optimal performance
- Collaborating with senior engineers and clients to deliver high-quality service
- Travelling to various locations to support on-site installations and upgrades
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Network Engineer (Te ManawaTaki) sits within the Network and Communications team, part of the Digital Operations function under the wider Digital Services group. Reporting into the Practice Lead (Network and Communications Te Manawa Taki), You'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, collaboration, and a can-do attitude.
The team plays a vital role in maintaining the digital infrastructure that supports efficient, connected healthcare services.
About you

What we are looking for
- An enthusiastic professional with a strong hands-on experience in networking (1-3 years)
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Willingness to travel regularly
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless)
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network technologies
- Familiarity with Fortinet or similar network protection technologies
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
You will also have the following skills and experience to ensure your success in the role:
- CCNA certification or equivalent
- 3 years' experience delivering day-to-day technical support for end-users and IT systems.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in deploying and configuring complex network solutions, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and managing incidents.
- Ability to be extremely efficient at operational tasks, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the implementation of solutions.
