Human Resource Business Partner - Bay of Plenty at Te Whatu Ora, Bay of Plenty
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
- Permanent, full time
- District based – Bay of Plenty
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.
We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.
Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and motivated HR People Partner to join our team, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality P&C support across the business.
Reporting to the Director of HR Operations, you will provide end-to-end HR advice and services, supporting everything from day-to-day operational matters to the delivery of strategic initiatives. This is a great opportunity to take ownership and work closely with senior leaders, helping shape people practices that align with business goals and support our districts.
If you're someone who enjoys building strong relationships, working autonomously, and bringing practical, people-focused HR solutions to life - this could be the perfect next step in your career.
About the Team
You will be part of a supportive and collaborative People and Culture team, where partnership is at the heart of how we work. In this role, you will work closely with managers and employees across your assigned portfolios to understand their HR needs, provide practical guidance, and help them navigate both everyday matters and bigger strategic initiatives. Whether it's supporting the implementation of new policies, contributing to change and transformation programmes, or managing employee relations, you'll play an active role in enabling positive outcomes for both people and the organisation.
You will also work alongside a wider team of experienced People Partners and subject matter experts across the People and Culture function - sharing knowledge, collaborating on best practice, and ensuring we deliver a seamless, flexible, and high-value HR service. This is a great opportunity to grow your expertise, make meaningful connections, and contribute to impactful work in a fast-paced and people-focused environment
About you
You are a people-focused HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, working collaboratively, and finding practical solutions that make a real difference. With a solid foundation in generalist HR, you are confident navigating a busy workload and contributing to meaningful outcomes. You enjoy variety in your day, you're comfortable working with change, and you're always keen to learn and grow.
