Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne.  We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki.  Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

He kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty are currently seeking Registered Midwives to join our Maternity Unit at Tauranga Hospital.  We have a number of permanent positions available 0.8 FTE, working 32 hours per week Monday to Sunday. 

The maternity team is a close and supportive team who aim to provide excellent clinical care and a cheerful and nurturing environment for mothers and their babies.  Midwives are encouraged to develop areas of interest, share knowledge, and identify quality improvement opportunities. 

The team are very much part of the local community and enjoy the rewarding work and an excellent work/life balance. 

He korero mōu - About You 

If you have the ability to work across the scope of midwifery practice in a secondary care unit and enjoy working in a busy team, apply now.

You will have the opportunity to work with mothers and their babies and whānau.  Recent experience in a maternity environment is required. 

Knowledge of Tikanga, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the principles of Kaupapa Māori is also an asset. Applicants must be committed to implementing Te Toi Ahorangi strategy to ensure patients and their whānau move towards Toi Ora.
